The Australian Hypnotherapists Association (AHA) encourages members to pursue a wide variety of learning experiences that support both clinical excellence and successful professional practice.
The good news? Achieving your annual CPD requirement is easier than you may think.
Only 20 CPD Points Required Each Year
AHA members are required to complete just 20 CPD points per membership year.
These points can be gained through workshops, seminars, conferences, webinars, online training, discussion groups, and many other recognised educational activities. In fact, many members comfortably exceed the annual requirement simply by attending a selection of AHA events throughout the year.
Therapy-Related Training
Any education that enhances your therapeutic knowledge or clinical skills is generally claimable.
This includes training related to:
- Hypnotherapy
- Counselling
- Psychotherapy
- NLP
- Coaching
- Trauma-informed practice
- Mental health
- Communication skills
- Therapeutic techniques
- Client care
- Ethics and professional practice
Claim Rate:
- 1 CPD point per hour
- Capped at 10 points
The training does not need to be exclusively about hypnotherapy. If it contributes to your work as a therapist or supports better client outcomes, it will generally be considered therapy-related.
Non Therapy-Related Professional Development
Running a successful practice requires more than clinical skills.
Training that helps you operate and grow your business is also recognised as valuable professional development.

Claim Rate:
- 0.5 CPD points per hour
- Capped at 10 points
This allows members to continually improve both their therapeutic knowledge and the practical skills needed to build a successful practice.
Evidence Must Be Provided
To claim CPD points, members must provide suitable evidence of attendance or completion.
Evidence may include:
- Certificate of attendance or completion
- Registration confirmation
- Receipt or invoice
- Transcript
- Attendance record
- Other documentation confirming participation
Providing evidence ensures the integrity of the AHA's professional standards and helps maintain confidence in the quality of member qualifications.
