How to Register with the AHA

If you are either a practicing or non-practicing Hypnotherapist, a student currently studying hypnosis or a therapist utilise hypnotherapeutic techniques within your methodology and would like to apply for practitioner Registration with the AHA, you may download the AHA Prospectus and Application forms directly from the website. Links for these are on the left page menu.

The AHA has been the peak body in Australia for hypnotherapy and hypnotherapist since 1949 and is the oldest and most recognised hypnotherapy organisation in Australia.

If you would like to view a list of the advantages of registering with the AHA, please click "Why Join the AHA" here. Please note:  You will require Adobe Acrobat to view the above Prospectus and Application material.  If you do not have this, it may be downloaded free from Adobe.

Clinical membership is available for those practicing hypnotherapists (in Australia and overseas) that have completed a minimum of 400 hours of training . See the AHA Prospectus and Application forms for further details.  Or if you would like to speak to a member of the Membership Committee you can  phone either Mia Lack on the AHA Free Advisory Line 1800 067 557 or Stephanie Lewis on 02) 4397 2833 or you can email Stephanie Lewis.

Associate membership is available for those practicing hypnotherapists (in Australia and overseas) that have completed a minimum of 150 hours of training . See the AHA Prospectus and Application forms for further details.  Or if you would like to speak to a member of the Membership Committee you can phone either Mia Lack on the AHA Free Advisory Line 1800 067 557 orStephanie Lewis on 02) 4397 2833 or you can email  Stephanie Lewis.

Student Membership is available for those studying hypnotherapy with a professional hypnotherapy training organisation.  Student members are eligible for a discount when attending AHA workshops. However please note the AHA does not accept applicants that have only completed a correspondence (distance training) course. All applicants need to have participated in some face to face training and supervised practice.

Also any AHA student members who when they graduate then apply for practitioner registration will have their first year membership fee to the AHA waived.  This is being offered to hypnotherapy graduates because the AHA recognizes that there are many costs involved in setting up in a new profession. The AHA believes that in this one way we can assist you to be a success in your newly chosen profession.

Affiliate membership: Overseas hypnotherapists or Australian non-practicing hypnotherapists or others just interested in hypnotherapy are invited to apply for Affiliate Membership.   Affiliate members are eligible for a discount when attending AHA workshops.

All Overseas Affiliate members will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Affiliation.

If you are unsure as to which level to apply for or whether your qualifications will be accepted by the AHA, please contact Mia Lak or Stephanie Lewis on 02) 4397 2833 who will be happy to answer any questions or assist you with your application.
